This is one CRAZY rig! Spotted at a racing event in Wisconsin, this thing was built by some dude in his garage in Milwaukee in 1961.
Guess he wasn’t quite satisfied with the rigs Detroit was producing so he holed up at home and went to it. Git ‘R’ Done indeed! It is a freakish beast with some great deco/futuristic touches: rocket shaped tailpipe, wacky center console thingy, and more fins than the carp infested Chicago River.
You gotta love the American ingenuity/hard-headedness/stupidity of building your own car.
I imagine his marriage and liver both took a hit during the years it took to build this and I’m sure his neighbors thought he was out of his mind.
But I must say, that’s a small price to pay for ownership of a one-of-a-kind rig like this. For Those About to Build Their Own Cars in Their Garages, We Salute You!
